🔬 Measuring viscosity: insight into the flow of fluids

Viscosity is the ability of a product to resist flow. By subjecting a fluid to a specific shear rate and measuring the corresponding shear stress (motor torque), the viscosity can be calculated.

Because viscosity measurements are used in various industries, different types of instruments are available. Wilten Instrumenten offers a wide range of viscometers, each with its own measurement method and application area.

An example of this is the Prodig series from Lamy Rheology. This series has been developed for demanding measurement applications and features a 7-inch touchscreen that allows measurement methods to be created and saved, measurement results and curves to be displayed, and data to be analyzed. It also allows for the printing of reports and user management without the need for an external PC.

In addition to viscometers, the Prodig series also includes the GT300 Prodig gel timer.
