There is a growing demand for LED spots where very focused lighting is required, the optics must have a very small opening angle. To achieve this, there are COB LEDs with a much smaller LES (Light Emitting Surface) than conventional COB LEDs. The small LES creates less reflection and stray light. Now it is possible, in combination with a lens or reflector, to direct a very tight beam of light onto an object to be illuminated, so that it is optimally illuminated.

With the CLU7xx series, consisting of 4 housings, each available in multiple color temperatures and RA values. It is possible to realize a lumen package from ~1000lm to >6000lm. The LES diameters vary from 3.3 to 13.0mm.

The usual colour temperatures are available in Ra80. For outdoor applications, even a 5000K in Ra70 is available. Of course, these LEDs also comply with MacAdam step 3 and the specifications are measured at Tj=85°C, “hot binning”.
