TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) reports that the affordable TDK-Lambda DRB series DIN rail power supplies have been expanded to include versions with a three-phase AC input. The new models with 12 V, 24 V or 48 V output are available with output powers of 120 W or 240 W and can deliver a peak power of 144 W or 288 W respectively for two seconds. In combination with the overload characteristic at constant current, this makes This makes these power supplies suitable for both capacitive and inductive loads. The power supplies also have a low inrush current, which reduces unwanted tripping by input circuit breakers.

The DRB three-phase power supplies are suitable for a wide range of applications, including traditional control cabinets, decentralized machines and industrial systems, as well as information and communications technology devices.

The power supplies are housed in a robust metal housing, which with dimensions of 55 mm wide, 129 mm high and 138.2 mm deep saves space on the DIN rail for other components. The power supplies have a wide input voltage range from 350 to 575 VAC. The high efficiency up to 94% and no-load consumption down to less than 2.3 W in standby mode with remote on-off ensure low energy consumption. Low energy losses ensure less internal heating and a longer lifespan of the electrolytic capacitors.

A DIP switch on the front panel enables 'droop mode current sharing' for parallel operation to realize higher power or redundant systems. To compensate for cable losses and O-ring FETs or to adapt to non-standard output voltages, all versions have a wide adjustable output range, namely 11.4 to 15 V (12 V model), 22.5 to 29 V (24 V models) and 45 to 56 V (48 V model). In addition to LED indication, there is a DC OK relay contact for remote monitoring. Remote on-off is possible via a closed relay contact or a <4 V input.

The insulation voltage between input and output is 3,510 VAC, between input and earth it is 2,210 VAC, and between output and earth 1,390 VAC. The DRB power supplies are convection cooled and can operate at ambient temperatures between -25 °C and +70 °C, with derating required from 55 °C.

The power supplies are certified according to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1, 61010-1, 61010-2-201 and are CE marked for the Low Voltage, EMC and ROHS Directives. They meet EN55011-B and CISPR11-B standards for radiated and conducted emissions. In addition, they comply with EN 61000-3-2 (Class A) for harmonic currents and the IEC/EN 61000-6-2 immunity standard.
