ElectroglaZ is a wireless energy transfer system through conductive glass. Zytronic's ElectroglaZ technology is a custom-made lamination of non-conductive and conductive transparent glass. This combination allows power to be transferred across two or more separate layers in the laminate and extracted at the required locations to power multiple low-power devices (less than 50V). This energy supply is wireless/cable-free and invisible to the user. ElectroglaZ is a patent-pending technology.

How does ElectroglaZ work?

To implement the energy transfer, openings (with a diameter of 30 to 100 mm) are machined into the highly conductive glass where the required low voltage devices are connected. These connected devices connect to the positively and negatively charged inner linings of the laminated glass. Unlike traditional power supply systems, electrical devices placed on ElectroglaZ do not require any wire or cable connection and appear to be freely ‘floating’ within an optically clear glass panel.

While wirelessly powered devices are the primary focus, this technology also allows for data transfer.

Zytronic can process the glass using various techniques, such as thermal hardening, laminating, cutting, grinding, polishing, and printing.

What are the possible applications for ElectroglaZ?

ElectroglaZ offers new possibilities for various applications, such as low-voltage LED lighting or USB power supply and charging (in Retail furniture, Point of sale, Museums or Galleries), HVAC, Building automation and security, Infotainment or household appliances.
