Gator Bio, the company behind the next-gen Biolayer Interferometry (BLI) technique, signed an agreement in June 2022 with I&L Biosystems, distributor of innovative biomedical and biotechnological products. This collaboration will make protein characterization even easier for all research and production communities in Europe.

The added value for I&L Biosystems customers
“The Gator BLI platform and suite of innovative biosensors is an important addition to I&L’s portfolio of protein characterization products, and we are very excited about the possibilities Gator will offer our customers in characterizing antibodies, protein interactions, AAVs and small molecules,” said Mr. Alexander M. Beljaars, CEO of I&L Biosystems GmbH. “Access to this next-gen technology is key to the continued support of our biopharmaceutical and academic research customers in our regions. We are very excited about helping the research and manufacturing community with the novel applications in gene therapy, immunotherapy and lipid nanoparticle development.”

Gator Bio's BLI technology
The Gator instruments and biosensors enable real-time analysis of biomolecular interactions providing information on affinity, kinetics, concentration, and epitope binding. Most importantly, Gator Bio’s analytical capabilities enable better and faster characterization of potential drugs, providing greater value in drug development where existing methods have limitations in throughput, performance, and cost.
Dr. Hong Tan (CEO Gator Bio): “I&L Biosystems has a history of bringing new and innovative technologies – as demonstrated by their previous success in commercializing various multi-analyzers, protein purification equipment, SPR instruments and bioreactors. We look forward to working with the I&L Biosystems team to bring the Gator platform to users across the region.”

8-channel system GatorPrime
GatorPrime is a next-generation Biolayer Interferometry (BLI) system based on a 96-well plate format. This 8-channel system analyzes 8 samples in 30 seconds and 96 samples in less than 30 minutes. Applications include: AAV quantification and kinetics, protein-small molecule interaction, protein-protein interaction, receptor-ligand binding, epitope binning and kinetics analysis.

A size more: GatorPlus
GatorPlus is a 384-well plate format BLI system capable of measuring up to 16x16 epitope binning, quantification and kinetics in a single run. Gator Bio’s BLI systems have exceptional temperature control resulting in greatly improved baseline stability and greater precision and accuracy. The novel surface chemistry of Gator Bio’s BLI probes provides increased sensitivity.
