The substantive program is starting to take shape
The LabNL trade fair has a strong substantive programme with three themes, namely lab optimisation, life science and separation and detection techniques.
In the previous newsletter we already informed you that the kick-off of the fair on Tuesday 26 September will be done by Erik Scherder, in this article you can read more about the content of the program.
Lab optimization
Erik Scherder's lecture focuses on vitality and the brain. Following his lecture, we will organize an ergonomics workshop for laboratory technicians. Many repetitive actions, a lot of sitting or standing work makes working in a laboratory physically demanding. In this workshop, we will provide tips & tricks to deal with this better.
In addition, we are working on a seminar on data and a workshop on lean laboratory to give shape.
Life Science
One of the topics we will be addressing within the theme of life science is the developments in DNA technologies. Raymond Staals from WUR will take us through the origins of CRIPSRCas and the milestones achieved and will provide a glimpse into new technologies. Johan den Dunnen from LUMC will give a lecture on DNA-based healthcare.
The successful workshop on sustainability during WoTS 2022 will be continued during LabNL 2023.
Furthermore, we want to start with a seminar on sample management. Do you have ideas about this or do you want to think about this? Then contact us via eline@fhi.nl.
Theme detection and separation techniques
Within the theme of detection and separation techniques, we are organizing a number of interactive sessions together with our content partner Avans+, namely:
- Which column do I choose for which application?
- The advantages and disadvantages of detection systems.
- Basic considerations before purchasing a device.
In this way, we want to help lab employees in an accessible way with very practical matters that they encounter in their work.
In addition, we are setting up two seminars, namely on PFAS and on supercritical fluid chromatography. Do you have customers or relations who would like to give a presentation on this? Let us know via wendy@fhi.nl.
