IT Infrastructure event 2021; program with interesting keynotes and panel discussion is complete!
The IT infrastructure and data center world are more important than ever before. On November 16, as a visitor to the IT Infra event, you will be updated on current themes through technical and interactive lectures from the exhibitors, keynote speakers and through a panel discussion. In total, the event has approximately 30 exhibitors and 18 presentations on the programme. This year again with 2 appealing keynotes: Daan Terpstra from SDIA (Europe needs its own cloud environment – that offers enormous opportunities!) and Freya Macke from Arcadis (The climate is changing. Are you as a data center ready for this?). National and international data centers will also discuss the topic in a panel discussion: A lot is indeed happening in the field of making data centers more sustainable (but unfortunately the media does not see this).
In short; You can not miss this!
Below you will find a list of the presentations by exhibitors CommScope, Abato Motoren, Fortop and Eaton.
From 100G to 800G: how to plan this properly?
Data centers, service providers and IT/network managers navigate the inevitable changes in the physical layer of the (data center) network. Barend van de Lagemaat and Dick Philips from CommScope during their presentation from 11:45 AM – 12:05 PM. Since there are a multitude of options, depending on the passive optical connections and the optical transceivers, they also give you tips and useful tools to determine the right migration route to 800G and beyond.
Emissions from emergency generators
Emergency generators use diesel as fuel. During combustion, diesel engines emit nitrogen dioxide in addition to soot and carbon monoxide. What do emergency power generators emit per year and how can the nitrogen emissions of an emergency power generator be calculated or estimated? What is my nitrogen emission on an annual basis if I have installed two 1000 kVA units?
During his lecture from 12.10 - 12.30 Daan Preijde will give Abato Motors a brief background of what happens when diesel engines are burned and diesel engine regulations. Possibilities for retrofit waste gas aftertreatment and options for reducing emissions are also discussed.
More available IT power without sacrificing uptime
How can you rent out as much surface area as possible without compromising uptime and do you have sufficient available power capacity to guarantee and monitor this availability under all circumstances?
In his presentation Arjan Pit explains Fortop from 2:00 PM - 2:20 PM an explanation of how a power monitoring system can be an efficient tool to guarantee the availability of voltage and current as much as possible. He discusses the technical background of the measurement plan, but also informs you how obtained measurement data can be translated into understandable management information in the form of visualizations, reports and notifications. He does this using practical examples.
The UPS in Data Centers as a revenue model
Power management company Eaton enters into a partnership with Microsoft. The parties will help data centers generate new income from existing assets and increase the use of renewable energy sources to make the electricity grid more sustainable and stabilized.
In the presentation, Jussi Vihersalo, on behalf of Eaton, shows how data centers that use energy storage in UPS systems (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) can support the electricity grid by storing energy and returning it to the grid. This capability is an important part of Eaton's Everything as a Grid approach, helping the company contribute to a carbon-neutral energy future.
