Mathias Wuttke, Business Development Manager Medical Europe at Odu, gave a webinar for Telerex entitled: Realizing IEC 60601-1 Protection from electrical shock in connector solutions.

The webinar will discuss the obligation of manufacturers to integrate two protective measures into their products to minimize risks.
To this end, they may take two separate measures or apply a single measure twice.
Overall, the specified protection level 2 MOPP (equipment for patient protection) or 2 MOOP (equipment for operator protection) must be obtained. For these reasons, the approval procedures for medical electrical equipment and systems have recently become even more complex than they were before the latest version of the IEC 60601-1 solution options with plastic enclosures was effectively released to meet the specific requirements of IEC 60601-1.
