LabAutomation continues as a unique online knowledge week
LabAutomation 2020 continues! Unlike previous editions, we offer a unique digital knowledge week. From Monday 29 June to Thursday 2 July there will be several free webinars that inspire and provide tools to get started yourself.
The program is very diverse. Certainly one or more sessions will help you immediately in your own laboratory. Consider themes such as setting up a workflow and further optimizing it, implementing a new software system and high throughput screening. Compose your own program with the webinars that are interesting for you.

Curious about the topics? Below is a brief overview:
High-throughput fragment screening for prioritization of novel antimicrobial targets
New antimicrobial drugs are needed to tackle multidrug-resistant infections. Peter Canning from LifeArc explains how they do this during this webinar high throughput fragment screening in the research into such a medicine. The role of bioinformatics, automated data processing and machine learning are also discussed.

The paperless lab
Are you ready for the transformation to a paperless lab? Frédéric Delaruelle from Waters explains how NuGenesis Lab Management System seamlessly links lab data with other business activities. The system supports the entire product life cycle, from research to production. Would you like to discover how this lab management system can also relieve you of your worries? Then follow this webinar.
Monday June 29, 3:00 PM
Automated Liquid Handling
Nathaniel Hentz from Artel will give a webinar on behalf of Analis under the title 'Getting the Best out of Your Automated Liquid Handler'. In his presentation he shows the importance of accuracy and precision of the liquid handler. He also shows how fluid dosage variability affects test results.
Tuesday June 30, 2:00 PM.
Biobanking tools for ELNs
Lara Matthews from Bio-ITech tells more about biobanking tools for ELNs. Learn more about the challenges of a biobank in sample handling and discover the benefits of an ELN.
Tuesday June 30, 2:30 PM.
Process optimization
Marcel Braam from Indorama talks about the optimization of work processes in the laboratory. Anyone who strives for smart process optimization will sooner or later investigate waste or unnecessary production losses in the lab. Are you stuck? Or are you eagerly looking for efficiency gains in this area? Marcel, works at Indorama, takes you through an optimization method that is making a difference in his lab. read here an interview with Marcel Braam about this subject.
Tuesday June 30, 3:00 PM.
Setting up and scaling up a SARS-CoV-2 RT-qPCR testing platform
Biogazelle is one of the five test laboratories in Belgium in the national COVID-19 testing platform and has now carried out more than one hundred thousand tests. This webinar describes Prof. Jo Vandesompele how Biogazelle has set up the SARS-CoV-2 testing workflow and validated and how this has been further improved in terms of cost efficiency and performance.

Make optimal use of your data
Are you aware of the potential that (big) data analyzes offer your lab? Arne Baillière from Abbott will teach you to discover meaningful patterns during this webinar. He provides insight how Business Intelligence solutions can support you, such as tracking KPIs or identifying bottlenecks in your lab.
Wednesday, July 1, 2:30 PM
High throughput analysis of mycotoxin
Dr. Frederik Wuppermann from LCTech shows the benefits of robotization in the high throughput analysis of mycotoxins. He shows, among other things, the sample clean-up and analysis of sixteen types of mycotoxins simultaneously in grains, nuts and dried fruit using CrossTOX® columns. These are processed fully automatically by the FREESTYLE-SPE-QuEChERS.
Wednesday, July 1, 3 p.m
Bioprocess data warehouse – monitoring, planning and control of bioprocesses
In this webinar, Damian von Blarer from Infors-HT talks about the central storage and processing of data using a bioprocess data warehouse. Using a modern, automated approach, all collected data is centrally stored in a standardized database. This not only reduces data management costs, but also makes it easy to extract information from the data.

One of the core methods of genomics: How to improve your (q)PCR
This webinar covers multiple ways to improve your PCR. From more obvious things like temperature settings and DNA template quality, to lesser known factors such as pipetting techniques and consumables. In addition, we also delve deeper into the special requirements of qPCR as probably the most commonly used variant of traditional PCR. During this session you will learn:
- Pain points and solutions in (q)PCR setup
- Correct (q)PCR setup
- Tips and tricks for (automated) pipetting of a PCR setup

More than LIMS for ENCI Research with iVention's LES
In this webinar, Marcel Bruin (ATL manager within ENCI) will explain what the added value of a flexible LES system compared to common LIMS systems. To automate ENCI's state-of-the-art research centers, the innovative and flexible iLES solution was implemented to replace the old LIMS. iLES makes it possible to efficiently automate laboratory processes in accordance with applicable standards. iLES offers a lot of flexibility and modern tools to optimize collaboration at every level.
