Erwin Theelen of Tenviro how CLP/GHS plays an important role in the storage and sending of internal samples. In addition, Jos Euser of Environment and Transport Inspection when ADR applies to the transport of dangerous goods. The European regulation EC 1272/2008 (CLP) sets requirements for the classification and labelling of substances and mixtures that are supplied to third parties, even if no money is paid for them. In addition, the Dutch Working Conditions Act has made a link with CLP with regard to classification and labelling of stocks, internal mixtures and the like. Erwin Theelen van Tenviro provides insight into the rules of CLP and highlights some exceptions that apply to laboratories. He also explains why CLP plays an important role in sending samples and internal storage of samples, test mixtures and the like.
Jos Euser of the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate will give a presentation on the transport of hazardous substances in the laboratory chain. This will explain in more detail what the ADR applies to, what the exceptions/exemptions apply to and how internal distribution transport is arranged. During his presentation, practical problems that laboratories encounter with hazardous waste originating from laboratories will be highlighted.
