The Magnetic Bead Extractor (MBE) is a laboratory machine that enables the simultaneous washing of 16 96-well plates containing DNA samples. Subsequently, substances are separated by means of an extraction process. After the well plates are manually placed, the fully automatic washing and extraction process begins.
The MBE is used in laboratories to separate DNA samples from contaminants on a large scale. The DNA is isolated using magnets, an important step in the breeding process. This optimizes crops and reduces diseases. The MBE can automatically perform up to 12 cleaning steps, saving time and requiring less space as separate devices are unnecessary. Additionally, 1,536 samples are processed per cycle.
Furthermore, both preparatory and subsequent processes can be integrated within a single system. In this case, the customer's desired process serves as the starting point for development. Romédes develops the automation around the desired workflow, rather than adapting the process to the limitations of the automation.
