Strong focus on quality and continuity
Two family businesses with a focus on quality and the long term. That is where VDL Groep and tbp electronics found each other. As a result of the takeover at the end of last year, the new branch of the industrial group will continue as VDL TBP Electronics with Joost van Haperen at the helm. He succeeded Ton Plooy, who, as founder and former CEO, will transfer his knowledge and experience until the end of this year.
Joost: “VDL consists of 107 independent industrial companies and a lean holding company. We have over 15,000 employees spread across 20 countries. The group consciously wants to retain the manufacturing industry in Western Europe – and in the Netherlands in particular. In doing so, we safeguard knowledge and employment. Incidentally, it is necessary to be active worldwide, in order to be able to serve our international clients everywhere with the same quality and service.”
One-stop shop
“VDL Groep wants to be a one-stop-shop for its customers. VDL TBP Electronics fits in well with this strategy, because we did not yet have the assembly of high-tech electronics in-house. In collaboration with VDL sister companies, we offer clients complete products and systems – from development to aftercare. Existing clients of VDL TBP Electronics and the other VDL companies are served more broadly in this way. Strength through collaboration, without losing the entrepreneurial power of the individual companies.
Quality
