During WoTS 2022, we will organize various projects together with the exhibitors to closely match the interests of visitors. With the X-pedition and the seminar 'Innovations in the sample workflow' we focus on visitors from the biotech, pharmaceutical industry, universities and institutes, hospitals and contract laboratories. The seminar of the same name not only ties in with this theme, but also offers the visitor further depth with the help of presentations by experts.

By optimizing the sample workflow, laboratories can improve lab efficiency, increase lab capacity, and reduce errors. One important way to improve the sample workflow is to standardize processes. In addition, implementing innovative techniques and applications, no matter how simple, is an important step.

In the X-pedition 'Innovations in the sample workflow' we follow the workflow of a biological sample from the life science lab. A tour along six participating stands takes the visitor along the entire workflow. The X-pedition follows six steps from this workflow, namely:

  • Micro organism development
  • Cell, micro-organism and algae cultivation
  • Efficiency & traceability
  • Sample handling
  • Sample prep & analysis
  • Sample freezing, storage & tracking
  • At the end of January we will start with the content of the accompanying seminar. Do you have any ideas about this? Let us know by sending an e-mail to eline@fhi.nl.
