The next-generation solution from Fristam Pumps for hygienic pumping and dosing at low flow rates is a scaled-down version of our standard FDS pump. This innovative new pump design has been meticulously developed for accuracy and performance when pumping smaller volumes (5-900 l/h) or in dosing applications.

Unlike other low-flow technologies, the FDS Nano can switch between low speeds (for pumping and dosing) and high speeds (up to 4,000 rpm) for self-cleaning via CIP. This makes it ideally suited for:

Pumping of products at low flow rates and with product-friendly operation (viscosities up to 1 million cP)
Dispensing – both in 'shots' (up to 70 shots per minute) and continuous CIP – pumping at high speed up to 4,000 rpm


Hygienic design:

The internal design of the FDS Nano is open and free of dead zones. The zones around the mechanical seals are fully flowed through, ensuring effective cleaning during CIP without the need to disassemble the pump; this increases operational efficiency.

Product-friendly treatment:

The twin-screw design of the FDS Nano ensures smooth product handling with minimal shear forces (low-shear).
Trouble-free pumping, even under harsh conditions: The FDS Nano handles up to 70% of air in the pipe without air-locking and effortlessly pumps fluids with viscosities up to 1 million cP.

Thanks to the ability to achieve such low flow rates, Fristam can now enter new application areas in the process industry:
Pre-production phases – where smaller quantities of ingredients are pumped into a 'kitchen environment' to assemble batches.


At the end of the production process – for dosing and filling lines.
Pumps for pilot plants – The FDS Nano is a scaled-down version of the FDS, making it the ideal pump for pilot plants. Customers can evaluate the technology on a smaller scale before opting for a larger pump when scaling up production.

Replacement of inferior technology for low flow rates:
The FDS Nano is an excellent alternative to AOD pumps (pneumatic diaphragm pumps) or gear pumps for pumping small volumes of product. However, neither pump type is optimized for hygiene or for pumping shear-sensitive products.
