Review of the General Meeting of Members of the Building Automation sector and Kick-off Bits, Bricks & Behaviour
On Tuesday 4 June, the FHI member network/management event and General Members Meeting of the Dutch trade association for Building Automation took place in the beautiful Ouwehands Zoo. The day started for the trade association Building Automation with the kick-off of the Bits, Bricks & Behaviour conference. During the kick-off and the AGM in the Gorilla Experience, a Gorilla came every now and then to see how the meeting was going. The windows on both sides of the Gorilla Experience offered a view of the indoor and outdoor enclosure of the gorillas in Ouwehands Zoo.
After the success of last year's Bits, Bricks & Behaviour conference, the room was filled with enthusiastic members, each and every one driven to further expand the successes of the previous edition. The positive critical comments and suggestions made to improve the programme and the conference will be included in the organisation and realisation of the programme. Informing and consulting the members of the trade association is the achieved goal of the kick-off. The kick-off offers the members the opportunity to directly influence the organisation of the Bits, Bricks & Behaviour conference.
Following the kick-off, the AGM took place, where the board composition, the industry budget and current activities were discussed. During the AGM, Jacob Janssen of SIG Air Handling the Netherlands/HCRT was elected to the board and Wietse Hut of Sauter Nederland was re-elected to the board of the industry organisation Gebouw Automatisering. The composition of the board can be found here view via this link.
During the management event, the attendees were taken by Robin de Lange, general manager of Ouwehands Dierenpark, through all the ins & outs of the zoo, new projects and marketing choices. The decor of the management session, the Jungle restaurant, immediately took the attendees into the world of pandas. Robin de Lange gave an inspiring account of the 'Pandasia project'. The arrival of the two giant pandas was preceded by many years of lobbying with China. Robin de Lange passionately explained how this process went. From the construction of Pandasia, the collaboration with many parties, the technology and team building that came with it, as well as research, climate and nutrition. The FHI members present listened with interest to the inspiring and descriptive story of Robin de Lange.
