Conventional switches and push buttons often require unattractively large mounting holes in the user interface. This does not apply to the SCHURTER THS: the Touchless Hidden Switch. It can be installed almost invisibly from the back. A small cutout in the user interface is sufficient and the ToF sensor does its job reliably.
The new SCHURTER THS works with the proven ToF sensor of the well-known TTS push button. A light source emits light rays that are reflected by the environment. The sensor captures the reflected light and the distance is calculated based on the constant speed of light and the measured transition time.
A small, barely visible slot in the control surface, through which the light signal can be sent and received, is sufficient to activate the push button when approached.
Installation and possible applications
The push button is simply attached behind the user interface. This can be made of any conceivable material without affecting its function. This means that materials can be chosen that are particularly easy to clean. The spectrum of possible applications is broad. It ranges from designer push buttons to critical uses in medical technology or public sector applications.
Standard and design-in kit
As standard, the push button is designed for a glass thickness of 2 mm and equipped with RGB surface lighting. If other materials and surface thicknesses are used, a design-in kit is available from your SCHURTER contact person, with which all specifications can be tested and adjusted. In addition, custom settings such as distance, timing and lighting can also be easily tested individually with this kit.
