Safety and safe working in a laboratory are of the utmost importance. During the LabSafety event, experts and safety specialists from various disciplines will come together in an extensive conference program to speak. Speakers from among others Radboudumc, LUMC, ILenT, Tu Delft and SZW share their knowledge on the topics of 'Personal safety' and 'Safe working environment'. Specialized suppliers present their expertise and latest developments in an extensive information market.
The day starts with a plenary presentation entitled 'Stress keeps me alive! How do I deal with emergencies?'. Marcel de Munck, Senior Consultant Safety Culture at D&F, explains how the human brain works in emergency situations and how our natural instincts 'freeze', 'fight' or 'flight' influence this. The program then continues in two parallel sessions, on 'Personal safety' and 'Safe working environment'. The day ends with a presentation on working with common sense and working safely with (hazardous) substances.
During the breaks there is an opportunity to visit the information market participating companies to meet. These companies provide information on safe lab design, products and equipment that promote safe working.
