The reinsurance of supplier credits will be extended by the central government by six months until 30 June 2021. Smaller companies in particular can continue to operate thanks to these supplier credits.

State Secretary Vijlbrief (Taxation and Tax Authorities) confirmed the extension in a letter to Parliament. According to the government, the reinsurance prevented insurers from massively lowering or even withdrawing credit limits. In October, it was still announced that the scheme would continue until April 1, 2021.

By maintaining supplier credits, customers of insured companies can continue to use instalment deliveries. This is an important form of credit provision, especially for SMEs. A total of 12 billion euros is available to guarantee the continuity of credit insurance.
