Collect the World of Electronics trade show gadget: the EMI Sniffer

During World of Electronics, you receive not only inspiration, demonstrations, and new contacts. This year, you also take home a piece of technology: the EMI Sniffer. This compact gadget was specially developed for visitors to the fair and shows how collaboration within the electronics sector leads to innovative applications.

The EMI Sniffer measures electromagnetic disturbance in the environment. This provides insight into signals and interference present in electronic systems. Various exhibitors collaborate on the design, production, and calibration of the gadget. This creates a trade fair project where development, production, and application come together.

Developed by industry experts

The development of the EMI Sniffer is in the hands of Evabits. Under the leadership of Arjen Bogerman, work is being done on the design and functionality of the gadget. The housing is also receiving a great deal of attention. Comdes has developed a custom housing that perfectly complements the compact and practical nature of the meter.

Central to the electronics design is a Raspberry Pi. This chip is supplied by Elektor, but anyone studying the PCB will also find many components from Würth and Microchip.

Calibration also plays an important role. Raditeq performs measurements in advance on the EMI Sniffer. The result consists of values used to 'calibrate' every gadget during the trade fair. This is done on the exhibition floor using Inducompware Industrial Computers. Functional testing and programming also take place live at the trade fair using the EVAjigs test setup, with support from MG Electronics.

The production of the printed circuit boards takes place at Eurocircuits in Hungary. Subsequently, A1 electronics handles the assembly of the components onto the printed circuit boards.

The EMI Sniffer is a unique project that you shouldn't miss.
