(Engelstalige lezing) Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) is a new Physical Layer for Industrial Communication which significantly reduces the cabling effort and increase the cable length for Ethernet applications. With PoDL also end devices can be powered via the Dataline.
SPE is will be used in factory automation like PROFINET and process automation applications known as APL (Advanced Physical Layer). This lecture will explain the technical characteristics of SPE as well as the benefits for certain application examples. Also the relevant standards are named and the status of the standardization and the Market introduction will be discussed.
