Electromagnetic shielding and absorbent materials are critical for ensuring secure communication, reducing interference, and achieving compliance with EMC standards in modern RF systems. As frequencies extend into millimeter-wave and beyond, accurately characterizing these materials becomes increasingly challenging. This presentation demonstrates how Vector Network Analysis (VNA) provides a precise and reliable method for evaluating shielding effectiveness and absorption properties through S-parameter measurements. We will explore practical test setups, including fixture design and calibration techniques, to minimize uncertainty and achieve accurate results.
