There is only so much installation space available in vehicles. At the same time, the demand is increasing for functionality across electrical systems. That is why we have integrated compact power and signal distributors that simultaneously assume control functions and can be installed at different locations. In mobile machines, these units are exposed to demanding environmental conditions such as high temperatures, vibrations, dust, and humidity. This necessitates a housing and insulated cable accesses or connector systems in our products. Würth Elektronics ICS responded to its customers’ challenges by developing a box platform solution called REDline Power Boxes.
REDline Power Boxes combine a customer-specific PCB with a standard housing, reducing cost and development time. Their high IP protection classes ensure resilient protection against environmental conditions and enable the devices to be installed in various positions in the vehicle. REDline Power Boxes can be implemented over a range of different applications. Each solution is custom: The number and size of the power inputs, the number of pins, and the directions of the connectors’ output can all be individually customized.
