In the last two parts of TechThursday we explained why there are unavoidable manufacturing tolerances in the holes of a PCB. Deviations between the parameters in the CAD system and the measured values after production also exist in the track widths and isolation distances. According to IPC-A-600, 20% deviation is permissible.
In this chapter we explain with a video the reasons for these tolerances and how tracks and isolation gaps are related to each other.
