Impact of a Non-Linear Load (SMPS) on the Output of a UPS or BESS
In this demonstration, we show on a small scale how a switched-mode power supply (SMPS), acting as a non-linear load connected to the output of a UPS or BESS, can lead to increased harmonic distortion. This effect is related to the higher output impedance of a UPS or BESS, which can result in a less favourable interaction with the load than when it is supplied directly from the utility grid. This topic will be explained further during our lecture at the event.
