From micro inverter to MW inverter

During this event, TTMS will present a complete demonstration setup for solar panel inverters. We use a solar panel simulator and a grid emulator to replicate all possible weather conditions as well as grid voltage, frequency, and harmonics.

With the solar panel simulator, we can simulate I–V curves of any type of solar cell and panel under various conditions, such as temperature, light intensity, shading, and even panel aging. A unique feature is the dynamic response of the setup, allowing us to test the speed of an inverter’s MPPT tracking response. Naturally, we can also test against all common standards for PV installations.

Using the grid emulator, we can test grid codes from different countries, both in terms of voltage and frequency. In addition, we test harmonic distortion and shutdown protocols. Anti-islanding tests are also supported by this grid emulator.

Battery simulation is not included in this test setup, but the required hardware and software will be available at the booth.
