In an increasingly congested and dynamic radio frequency environment, traditional spectrum monitoring methods are no longer sufficient to detect, classify, and respond to complex signal activity in real time. This presentation explores a new paradigm in RF spectrum awareness enabled by the combination of continuous IQ streaming spectrum analyzers and modern artificial intelligence techniques.

We discuss how high fidelity IQ data—captured without gaps and at bandwidths previously impractical to analyze—forms the foundation for AI driven insights. By applying machine learning models to this raw stream, systems can automatically identify signal patterns, detect anomalies, characterize modulation schemes, and predict emerging interference before it impacts operations. The result is a system that not only observes the spectrum but understands it.

Through practical examples based on Anritsu MS27201A aka Y9827A, we illustrate how the symbiosis of advanced RF instrumentation and AI algorithms transform tasks such as interference hunting, spectrum compliance monitoring, and dynamic waveform classification. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how to integrate IQ streaming hardware with AI pipelines, the architectural considerations involved, and the opportunities this opens for next generation spectrum intelligence.

This session is designed for RF engineers, data scientists, and system architects seeking to elevate spectrum monitoring from reactive measurement to proactive, intelligent awareness.

Remark: In parallel to the presentation, Anritsu will run two different AI based spectrum awareness systems on their show booth.
