ACtronics BV is the European market leader specialized in the revision of electronic car parts for almost all brands. The combination of the growing demand with increasingly challenging revisions made the company decide to invest in the Essemtec Fox Multi Function Center that combines accurate paste jetting with component placement.

ACtronics staat for Quality

Since 2005, ACtronics has been active as an expert in the revision of electronic car components, both in the Netherlands and in various other countries within Europe. Due to their innovative approach, they have become a market leader, developing in-house simulation platforms and machines to localize malfunctions and perform endurance tests. The range is extremely varied and includes ABS units, ECUs, TCUs, instrument panels and throttle tubes ... and also with a 2-year warranty on the revised components.

Advanced Electronics Revision

Specific processes are needed to be able to overhaul the newest electronic components, such as for example when processing fine pitch processors. The components to be replaced are also often incorporated in a hermetically sealed module that must be accurately disassembled. After this process, components must be desoldered and the surfaces cleaned. After this, the rebuilding process begins, in which paste must be applied only at specific locations and a new processor must be installed.

“The search for a suitable solution for our purposes was not easy,” testifies Leon Kleine Staarman, owner of ACtronics. “There are many parameters that we had to take into account, but Smd-Tec understood our challenges and supported us from the beginning with information and the necessary tests. Even though we studied other solutions, our choice for Essemtec was ultimately quick because we were impressed by the technical possibilities and the customer-oriented culture.”

Essemtec Fox with Dynamic Shockwave Paste Jetter

The VDST Dynamic Shockwave Pasta jetter from Essemtec is integrated in the FOX assembly machine, allowing both the paste and the component to be applied without any additional intermediate steps or manipulation of the module. The jetter places paste dots up to 200µ and can therefore easily handle the required pitch of 0.4mm. The process is further monitored by automatic software tools and hardware facilities such as a heating element that keeps the temperature in the jet needle constant and helps ensure a stable and repetitive process.

Smd-Tec CEO Tom Van Tongelen is proud to welcome a unique High Tech company like ACtronics to his customer family. “Thanks to close cooperation, we succeed in successfully tackling challenges like these. The choice of a European manufacturer and local support are more important than ever today. Since 2020, it has become abundantly clear that there is nothing better than a good neighbor instead of a distant friend.”
