Visitor survey: need for a physical edition Electronics & Applications 2021 large

Electronics & Applications 2021 will take place in the Jaarbeurs from Tuesday 28 to Thursday 30 September. Electronics & Applications 2021 responds to this wish and brings together colleagues in a program that can be followed both online and offline.

The survey was sent to former visitors of E&A 2017 and E&A 2019. When asked whether they would visit a trade fair at the end of September if the corona measures allow it, approximately eighty percent of respondents answered 'yes'. A few would not consider a visit to a trade fair, while approximately eighteen percent are considering a visit when all corona measures have been lifted.

The majority of respondents have fancy a visit to this event. For example, approximately seventy percent indicate that they are willing to take a rapid corona test if it gives them access to the fair. When asked when they would visit a trade fair, almost sixty percent of respondents indicated that they would definitely do so once the current corona measures have been withdrawn. A small portion of respondents indicated that they were more interested in online meetings.

Personal contact
The number of respondents who indicate that they are more interested in just an online conference program instead of one physical trade fair visit is comparatively small. About three percent prefer this design. Approximately eighty percent prefer to opt for a physical event with seminars, because they need personal contact. About twenty percent think a hybrid event is a great solution. This combination of a physical event and a seminar program that can also be followed online is the format chosen by the organization of Electronics & Applications 2021.

The main reason for a visit to the fair For approximately 88 percent of respondents, it is gaining knowledge in the field of technological developments. An almost equal number of respondents also consider providing information as a good reason to visit the Jaarbeurs. Networking is a good reason for half of the respondents to visit the event. A visit to the fair is a success for visitors if there are innovations on display, there are good networking opportunities and there is plenty of room for information provision.
