LabNL 2023: good conversations, lots of fun and bustle in the seminar rooms
The new LabNL fair ended with good figures. A total of 1791 interested parties found their way to the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht from 26 to 28 September. With 65 exhibitors, the laboratory sector was well represented: from analysis equipment to safety doors and (second-hand) laboratory furniture.
A fit brain in a fit body
The seminars and presentations were well attended and appreciated. During the seminar 'Developments in DNA technologies', the speakers inspired the audience with their vision on DNA research and gave us a foretaste of future developments. For all questions about data and working more efficiently, visitors could go to the seminar 'Lab optimization and data'. The most popular lecture was the keynote presentation by professor Erik Scherder. He called on his audience to prioritize exercise in order to keep the brain 'fit'.
Get started with practical workshops
In addition to lectures, visitors could participate in workshops. For example, participants were introduced to the 5S improvement method, they thought critically about sustainability solutions and they learned more about the advantages and disadvantages of detection systems. But there was also attention for ergonomic working and help in choosing the right HPLC column.
Marketing Communications Cup
On Wednesday evening the exhibitors' reception took place. It was a well-attended meeting and of course the coveted Marketing Communication Cup was awarded during the reception. First place went to Isogen Life Science, BOOM came in second and The Baker Company came in third.
