TDK introduces programmable, isolated DC-DC converters for DIN rail mounting with output power of 120 W and 240 W and a wide voltage range.

TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) announces the introduction of the TDK-Lambda programmable DC-DC converters DDSM 120 W and 240 W. These products feature a wide input and output voltage range and a galvanically isolated design. The DDSM series offers remote control and real-time monitoring via Modbus over USB using the PowerCMC control and monitoring center. Additionally, a digital display shows device settings, system alarms, and status information. The device can be operated manually via three push buttons on the front panel.

The DDSM series has been developed to offer a wide range of voltage ratios. Among the many applications are improved voltage stability over long cable lengths, providing a higher (step-up) voltage to handle system load, offering an independent, galvanically isolated voltage for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) applications, and powering loads requiring special operating voltages. The wide input and output ranges facilitate inventory management, as fewer different item numbers need to be kept in stock.

The DDSM inverters are suitable for a nominal input voltage of 12 to 48 V (maximum 10.8 to 52.8 V) and can deliver a nominal output voltage range of 5 to 55 V (maximum 4.7 to 57 V). The efficiency during standard operation is up to 93.0 %, which reduces internal heat losses and saves energy in standby mode. The nominal output current is 5 A for the 120 W model and 10 A for the 240 W model. A 24 V/1 A DC-OK signal is available on the front panel. The DDSM is 40.0 mm wide, 116.6 mm deep, and 115.0 mm high, and weighs only 500 grams.

The safety certification conforms to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 61010-1, 61010-2-201 and IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 (Ed. 3). The series bears a CE/UKCA marking in accordance with the Low Voltage, EMC, and RoHS Directives in EU and UK regulations. The models comply with standards EN 55032-B for radiated and conducted emissions and EN 61000-6 for immunity.
