TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) is launching the TDK-Lambda TPF12500-385 series. These non-isolated three-phase power supplies can deliver a nominal power output of 12.5 kW to 13.1 kW. With a regulated output voltage of 385 VDC and an efficiency of 97.5 %, the series is designed for Distributed Power Architectures (DPA) and can supply power to isolated high-voltage DC-DC converters or DC microgrids. Thanks to low internal losses, a compact and efficient thermal management solution in the form of cooling by two internal fans is sufficient.

The TPF12500 models operate on a wide three-phase input voltage range of 360 to 528 VAC in both delta (Delta) and star (Wye) configurations. This makes them suitable for worldwide use, eliminates the need for expensive step-down transformers, and allows technicians to more easily maintain a balanced phase load, which benefits system reliability. For higher power levels, up to two power supplies can be connected in parallel via droop-mode power distribution. This allows technicians to increase the output capacity without having to redesign the system.

Thanks to board-to-board connectors and minimal wiring, the TPF12500 improves system efficiency and limits electrical losses, leading to better thermal performance. The reduced number of cables and mechanical connections ensures more space and higher reliability, decreasing the number of potential failure points caused by cable fatigue, loose connections, and vibration-related defects.

The TPF12500 models are designed for a wide range of applications, including semiconductor manufacturing equipment, data centers, RF power amplifiers in radars, industrial automation, and burn-in or other test systems.

The TPF12500 series is available with isolated DC OK and phase failure signals, remote power on/off, overheat warning, and a 13 V / 0.2 A standby power supply. The RS485 communication interface enables comprehensive remote monitoring for real-time insight into key parameters such as input voltage, output current, internal temperature, fan malfunction, and status signals. The power supply can cold start at -20 °C and operate at ambient temperatures from -10 to +40 °C. The TPF12500 series housing measures 202.6 x 111.1 x 711.2 mm (W x H x D) and is suitable for use in 3U high rack systems.

Safety certifications include IEC/UL/CSA/EN62368-1, and the devices bear the CE and UKCA markings for the Low Voltage, EMC, and RoHS directives. The devices also comply with the EN55032-A standards for conducted and radiated emissions in the final system, the IEC 61000-4 standards for immunity, and SEMI F47-0706 at a nominal voltage of 480 VAC (criterion C). The power supply has an isolation voltage of 2 kVAC between input and earth and 2 kVAC between output and earth.

The TPF12500 series is designed to withstand high shocks and vibrations, ensuring exceptional durability and reliable operation in demanding industrial environments.
