ISEL FORMULA STUDENT (IFS)
Saying Eurocircuits is an important partner to IFS is an understatement, this partnership which started in 2017 has supported us in making various electrical systems for our Formula Student cars to compete in competitions all over Europe.
Now with our 4th car in the making Eurocircuits has once again shown their quality service, in their ease-of-use website and delivery of our printed circuits.
IFS’ main objective was met this year by building a car in just 10 months, from designing to manufacturing it to making it to the competitions. The IFS04 is powered by an EMRAX 228 MV LC electric motor, uses cylindrical cells and all of its electronic boards were produced by eurocircuits. This car has seen a 15 kg weight reduction from the previous prototype and also has a completely renovated electronics system.
VDCU
Last season unfortunately we didn’t achieve the results we had hoped but with the rework of almost all electronics systems we are more confident. One of the systems reworked was the VDCU (Vehicle Dynamical Control Unit), this system can be considered the brains of our car.
Its main function is to receive data from Can from the other systems in the car and to process and filter various sensor throughout the car. With all this information it then commands the Inverter based on it.
We’re incredibly thankful to have Eurocircuits as a vital sponsor, helping us achieve the ambitious goal of building a car in under a year—a significant challenge for our small team in Lisbon, Portugal. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire Eurocircuits team for their crucial support and look forward to continuing this valuable partnership in the future.
