More and more OT Cybersecurity Directives and national legislation are driving physical solutions for network security within the industry.
Unidirectional architectures are network segmentation solutions that include at least one Unidirectional Gateway. These architectures may also include other elements, such as an additional Unidirectional Gateway to support in and out, a reversible time-limiting feature in the Unidirectional Gateway for patch, virus, production order management, or a temporary bypass for more secure remote access where operations are at 100 percent be in control.
A key to unidirectional architectures, in addition to the protection provided by the physical part, lies in the software element, which replicates data and data sources unidirectionally in real-time based on the native industrial protocol.
