Introduction and goals for the season
During the 2023/2024 season, we worked hard during the year in order to achieve a very challenging goal: building our first fully autonomous car and competing in different Formula Student events with it. After months of work, we managed to make it happen and attended three different competitions during the summer: Formula Student Spain, Formula Student Germany and Formula Student Alpe Adria. We even achieved a P2 in the driverless acceleration event in FSS!
This season, we decided to take a big step forward and add new technologies in our race car. Specifically, we are going to build our first carbon fiber monocoque chassis and our first 4WD system, consisting of 4 electric motors, located in each wheel. Apart from that, we’ve designed a new 600V battery which fulfills our powertrain requirements for the season.
We not only want to include new technologies in our prototype to make it perform better on the track, but also make it even more reliable, which means performing more test hours and testing out every single system of the car before attending the Formula Student events.
EuroCircuits Partnership
This massive improvements would definitely not be possible without the help of EuroCircuits. During the years, EuroCircuits has helped us bring our PCB designs to reality, with a very high quality fabrication process. Their fast production and technical support have also contributed to make our designs even better and achieve the reliability standards we look for.
One of the systems we design is the Power Management System, which controls the power delivery of the low voltage system of our racecar. Both the driverless system and the new cooling system of our ART-25 has made us redesign this PCB in order to make a more efficient control on the power supply of different systems.
One of the key features of this PCB is that it allows powering devices at different voltages, so that we can include 12V, 19V and even 24V devices in our car. We also included current measurement of each output.
We want to thank EuroCircuits for providing us with high quiality boards throughout the years and helping us build a high performance and reliable racecar!
