Every hour counts in our factories . Efficiency and precision are our key to success, especially when it comes to manufacturing SMD stencils for our PCB assembly.
The SMD stencil, a thin stainless steel sheet with precisely cut openings, is crucial for the precise application of solder paste to the PCB. These openings, or apertures, are designed exactly according to the pads, the pins of the components, so that the exact amount of solder paste is applied that we need in the soldering process.
But how do we achieve this precision? Using a state-of-the-art laser system from LPKF Laser & Electronics SE, we cut the openings in the sheet steel, which is fixed in a frame and clamped with air pressure. The data required for this process is prepared by our CAM team and transmitted directly to the machine.
But that's not all - the template undergoes important post-processing after the openings have been cut. In the video, we show why these steps are essential and how the entire process works in detail. 🔍
