Do you know this possibility to improve the thermal conductivity of FR4 PCBs?
An LED that is switched off in its normal state and only lights up briefly in certain situations often gets by with a moderate heat dissipation concept: an FR4 PCB with thermal vias. Thermal vias are plated vias that are filled with thermal paste. These thermal bridges spread the heat energy to the other side of the PCB, where there may be a heat sink.
