The term "semi-flexible" can be misleading. What is meant is that two or more rigid PCBs are firmly connected to each other via flexible strips. It is characterised by the fact that the flexible area is only bent into its final shape for assembly, i.e. usually when the housing is installed.
Eurocircuits manufactures the semi-flex PCBs in a symmetrical 4-layer structure, which enables production in cost-effective pooling.
