Modern communication networks are placing increasing demands on engineers and technicians to identify and resolve Quality of Service (QoS) issues quickly and efficiently. As RF environments become more complex, investigating interference from both authorised and unauthorised emissions is now a responsibility often assigned to technicians with limited RF experience.
At the same time, the RF spectrum is evolving rapidly, with wider frequency coverage, increased use of higher frequency bands, and more sophisticated modulation schemes. These changes require modern tools and techniques for effective spectrum monitoring and management.
In this seminar, Gustaaf Sutorius will explore spectrum management modernisation, including signal monitoring, interference detection, signal post-processing, and gapless recording. The session will feature live demonstrations using wideband spectrum monitoring hardware and a PC-based spectrum management software package, providing practical insights into moving from signal detection to informed decision-making.
