During the World of Laboratory, one of the three worlds on the World of Industry, Technology & Science, Everything revolves around concrete applicability. Exhibitors share their expertise not only at the stand but also in workshops where visitors get to work immediately on current issues from laboratory practice. This hands-on approach is characteristic: theory and practice come together in short, substantive sessions that add immediate value.

The common thread in the workshop program is clear: working more efficiently, analyzing more reliably, and operating more sustainably. Modern sample preparation takes center stage in the session on the microwave laboratory workstation. Here, it becomes clear how innovative techniques not only shorten analysis times but also contribute to greener workflows through reduced reagent and energy consumption.

The workshop on smart pipetting is closer to daily practice. What is often seen as routine turns out to be decisive for both measurement quality and the physical strain on employees. Digitization and automation come together in the workshop on the 'scannable future'. Smart sample management takes center stage here, combining barcodes, RFID, and data integration into efficient identification and tracing systems. As a result, the lab becomes not only faster but also more error-tolerant and better connected to IT infrastructures.

Specialties: from odor testing to sterilization

In addition, there is room for more specific applications. In the workshop on odor research, participants are introduced to analytical tools to make odor quality measurable and reproducible, for example for the food and cosmetics industries. Sterilization is also covered in 'Sterilizing Elevated to Art', where process control and craftsmanship take center stage to prevent contamination and ensure quality.
