PCB technology and assembly

Anyone working on or with printed circuit board assemblies must understand how a Printed Circuit Board is constructed, how fabrication and assembly proceed, and how those processes determine the design requirements. This masterclass provides you with that insight, including the relationship between PCB design and manufacturability.

Part 1: Printed Circuit Board assembly and fabrication
How is a printed circuit board constructed?
Which materials and layers are used, and how does the manufacturing process proceed?
From design to manufacturable PCB.

Part 2: Assembly, component mounting and Design-for-Manufacturing
How are components mounted, and which soldering and assembly processes play a role?
Basic principles of Design-for-Manufacturing and Assembly: how does design influence manufacturability and what does that mean for the collaboration between design and production?

Result

After this masterclass, you will understand PCB structure, manufacturing and assembly processes, and their relationship to design, and you will be able to take this into account in your own work.
