Laboratory Technology for Dummies

Do you or your colleagues—for example in HR, sales, administration, or marketing and communications—work with laboratory processes but have never worked in a lab yourselves? Laboratory Technology for Dummies offers an accessible introduction to the lab world. You will be introduced to clinical chemistry, microbiology, analytical chemistry, and food research, and learn to understand commonly used technical terms, equipment, and processes. This will enable you to communicate more easily and effectively about laboratory work in the future, both within and outside the organization.

For whom

For colleagues from HR, sales, administration, marketing, and communications without a lab background who want to understand what happens in a laboratory and how to communicate about it better.

Program

You will get hands-on experience with tests and experiments within four disciplines: clinical chemistry, analytical chemistry, microbiology, and food research. For example, you will perform glucose and urine analyses, analyze caffeine in various beverages, view and identify bacteria under the microscope, and gain insight into how food products are tested.
