FR-4: The low-cost base material for PCBs!
No base material is used as much as FR-4 for PCBs. Its characteristic properties are exactly what is needed for a circuit carrier: leakage current resistant or insulating, mechanically stable and capable of withstanding bending, heat resistant up to 100° C and economical.
But, FR-4 is far from a simple, straightforward base material.
