From specialist to manager

The step from specialist to manager is bigger than it seems. You are no longer the one doing the work yourself, but the one directing, motivating, and holding others accountable. In this training, you will learn how to make that transition: getting a grip on your new role, daring to let go of tasks, having the right conversations, and relating to former colleagues.

For whom

This training has been developed for newly appointed managers in the technology sector: people making the transition from a technical or specialist role to managing colleagues. Think of foremen, coordinators, and team leaders in their first managerial position.

Program

  • Day 1: Your new role. Insight into core qualities and pitfalls. From colleague to manager. Personal development and behavior.
  • Day 2: Communicating in the workplace. Active listening and observing. Motivating employees. Common conversations and conversation techniques.
  • Day 3: Dealing with difficult situations. Recognizing and managing emotions. Dealing with resistance. Addressing behavior. Personal action plan.

Result

After this training, you will be more confident in your new leadership role, conduct conversations with greater assurance, be able to let go of tasks and delegate, and deal constructively with resistance and difficult situations.
