Functional safety in industrial installations

Safety in industrial installations is not a matter of intuition; it is a methodology. In this training, you will learn to apply functional safety in design, analysis, and decision-making, using the SIL (Safety Integrity Level) methodology and machine safety as the starting point.

Prerequisite: completed the introduction first.

  • Assessing risks and safety levels
  • Applying the SIL methodology in practice
  • Correctly applying standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 62061, and ISO 13849
  • Making substantiated safety choices in projects

For whom

This training has been developed for safety engineers, lead engineers, compliance specialists, project engineers, project managers, and technical supervisors who want to apply functional safety in design, analysis, and decision-making.

Program

Part 1: Risk assessment and SIL determination
How do you systematically assess risks?
How do you determine the correct SIL level?
Safety functions and their role in the design.
Part 2: Standards and application in projects
How do you apply IEC 61508, IEC 62061 and ISO 13849?
How do you translate the standards into concrete choices in your projects?

Result

After this training, you will assess risks and safety levels, apply standards within projects, and make substantiated safety choices.
